Trinity Lutheran Church History
History of the congregation
Trinity has served Solano County for more than 100 years. The congregation was founded in Cordelia before Fairfield was even a town and moved to downtown Fairfield in 1947.
The church relocated to its current location, near Airbase Parkway, in the 1970s; and the sanctuary was built in the late-1990s.
We look forward to serving Fairfield, Suisun, Vacaville, and all of Solano County for the next 100 years.
What is a Christian?
The word "Christ" comes is from the Greek translation of the Hebrew word messiah (mashiach).
When we say that we have faith in Jesus Christ (Jesus, the Christ), we are stating our belief that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah who was prophesied in the Hebrew Scriptures (the Old Testament). Simply speaking, a Christian is a follower of Jesus, the Messiah (Yeshua Ha Mashiach).
Who was Martin Luther?
Martin Luther was a 16th century Roman Catholic priest and university professor who lived in Germany and was the father of the Protestant Reformation. Luther sought to reform the Roman Catholic Church and never intended to start a new church. His reforms were based upon the Bible, particularly the Book of Romans, focusing upon God’s love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness, which were revealed to us by Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.
